The Department for Transport's ActonCO2 advert -= part of a cross-governmental campaign to encourage people to reduce their personal carbon emissions.

This advert encourages motorists to travel five miles less per week. The government say this target has been chosen because the public believes this figure achievable, and due to the potential annual 2.7m tonnes CO2 saving.

The campaign says that car-sharing, alternative modes of transport and more careful planning of routes can all help towards the five miles less target.

  • Haha! What a load of shit.

  • @robz2 single actions done by one person will not make a difference, but is every body does an action, it will make a huge action. eg if everyone in america planted a tree, 200,000 trees would be planted, which is an awful lot.

  • Why do these people think they need to treat us like children?

  • simple maths can prove that any action against CO2 is pointless. See on this video watch?v=L_g1bMmupYU

what would really happen in real terms if everybody was driving 5miles less.

  • lol right well maybe I'll park half a mile from my work place everyday and walk the rest...

  • 010110102: Don't forget all the hot air expelled into the atmosphere every time Choudray opens his mouth.

  • This is a joke! The Government have been caught out by not reducing congestion because they'd lose on their "fuel tax" take. We drive less they'll tax more!

  • If the 3 million immigrants allowed into the UK are all taking driving lessons and all start driving cars then this will add 40,000 tonnes of additional CO2 to the UK output .How does me driving 5 miles less a week help.

  • I LOVE my carbon footprint!

Global warming fraudsters - let 'em freeze together in the dark.

  • don't drive, drink!

oh wait, the government are taxing booze for every penny they can, in that case lets all go for a 50 mile cruise in the moors.

on a serious note: more pollution is being made by immigration, the fuel to bring them here and the central heating for their homes once they get here (plus what they steal for growing cannabis)
