This video shows Mac Alex counting to 20 in Dutch. I made this video in response to kdmq's video showing Microsoft Sam counting in French. It was created by making stills with each phonetic word selected in TextEdit.
As said, the words in TextEdit are phonetic representations, used to make Alex pronounce the Dutch words as correctly as possible. As such, it may seem awkward to people who indeed do speak Dutch.
This is why I've also put footer titles below each of the words, each with the numeric value as well as the correct dutch and English words.
The footers may fade in and out a bit quickly, but this was necessary so as to keep the image in sync with the sound...
Hope you enjoy my effort.
The ticker at the end states the following:
Dutch-speaking persons should note that some words are emphasised incorrectly -- the emphasis is on the wrong syllable. This is very hard to correct, as manipulation of intonation (for example by using punctuation) is as good as impossible.
Edit: v1.01 corrects a tiny mistake in the introducing text of the video, where I accidentally mixed up the two names Mac Alex and Microsoft Sam... Silly me... Furthermore, legibility of the footers has been improved. Adversary to this, the video is now slightly longer in duration.
I should stress once mote, that the words one sees in TextEdit are NOT WRITTEN CORRECTLY; They MERELY REPRESENT phonetics, otherwise, Alex would mess them all up...

Is it possible to get the Alex voice for Windows? If it is how??

Nah... Unfortunately it isn't. It's in quite a different structure as to Microsoft's SAPI 5 (or nowadays 6) speech engine. Alas, the two engines do not mix, so one cannot use Alex in Windows, nor any of the MS voices on Mac OS X. Hope this answers your question...
