In the 70's, not only did the Jack in the Box symbol look like a toy Jack in the Box, but it didn't have a face! Now, they've turned "Jack" into a character. Also, not only did the food wrappers and containers look different back then, but some of the food looked really different, too! (Those crispy apple pies were sooooo good!)

  • My mom worked at Jack in the Box when she was a teenager in the 1970's in So Cal. She's told me stories of bouncing the cheese blocks on the floor, Jack Steaks??? but I saw them on the menu here in the photos. She always got the old food that sat under the heating thing for 1/2 off. She still loves to eat their taco's...and from her I learned that the taco meat, isn't really all meat, it's other stuff too!

  • is this a Throwback because i see CSI or somethin at 0:10

  • During this period, Johnny Carson mentioned in a monolgue on "THE TONIGHT SHOW" that his associate conductor, Tommy Newsom, was SO boring {a running gag}, "when he pulled into Jack In the Box...the clown talked into HIS mouth".

  • This was in 1978-see the full commercial under "1978 commercials".

  • @neoprankster This is true.

  • @MaxMikeLatino Exactly. The logo looks like 1980s.I am old enough to remember what it looked like in the '70s.Also,they did not use styrofoam containers in the '70s

  • Jack was supposedly the first of the burger joints to do breakfast when they came out with the original Breakfast Jack in 1969.
