This is one of our most important videos because it concerns the safety of your family and your pets. The McCurtain Family tragically lost their beloved dog, Maggie, do to a lethal trap that was set behind their backyard to kill nutria. This became a national story just after Thanksgiving this year when it was reported on by national agencies such as The Natural Resource Defense Council, the Humane Society and the Associated Press. Please watch this video and then visit Predator Defense to find out how you can take action to protect animals from lethal traps.

  • Was the dog, the target of whoever set the trap? Or was it there to trap a wild animal?

  • @MyVideoStop The trap was placed by the small lake to kill a large rodent called a nutria. Nutria are not a native species in Oregon, but Wildlife Services was irresponsible placing a lethal trap in this neighborhood where kids and animals play.

  • Thank you for this video. It is very sad.

  • @janwalsh1000 It is very sad and I thank you for watching. Visit predatordefense(dot)org for more info on this story.

  • that is so sad,that poor dog=(

  • @jaguarlover21 It's a sad story, but the good news is that the McCurtains are starting to heal their pain from the loss of Maggie because of this video and the work of Predator Defense. Recently they got a new puppy : )
