Not much I could do after pulling the baby, laptops and car out of the house but video this fire. 118 degrees in the shade in Chandler, Arizona that day. Notice the insufficient water pressure when the fireman opens the hydrant valve. Hose should have stiffened straight. House burned to the ground.

  • I see alot of extension into the attic. Judging by the appearance of the house, i assume it was sprinklered but the attic didnt have protection or what?

  • @Stealthguy06 Unfortunately the house was not sprinkled, and the attic was pretty darn hot that day. The solution to over heated attics is to put insulation directly under the roof so that the attic is cooled by the a/c. Before the firemen arrived, I tried spraying the roof with a garden hose. What a joke, it was so hot that it practically evaporated by the time the water rolled down the tiles...

  • Was this your house or somebody elses?

  • It was mine.

  • Oh man, I sure am sorry about that. I'm glad you got out in time, and definitely got the necessities. You are brave indeed. Did the home ever get rebuilt?

  • Home did not get rebuilt. We're selling the land, downsizing.
