  • My favourite place in all of the UK... I think it's beautiful there.

  • Charles Rothschild (1877-1923), of the House of de Rothschild of England, established both Woodwalton Fen, in Cambridgeshire, and Wicken in 1910, which were wholly owned by his Honourable. The SPNR acquired the reserves in 1919 as the first of many gifts from the late trillionaire. The wetland areas are now National Nature Reserves managed by English Nature. In particular, Wicken Fen is one of the best remnants of the formerly glorious and abundant fen habitat of Sir Charles' day.

  • Nice filming, but has anybody noticed the deliberate mistake? Polish Konik ponies and (Scottish) Highland cattle are not native to the Cambridgeshire Fens - duh!
