Speaking as a person in remission from cancer (as if that gives me any kind of moral authority lol), why not treat yourself to nice things? It's fun. Life shouldn't be all doom and gloom. I bought a Peace, Love and Juicy Couture set in the Boots sale today, and loads of Lush stuff - I am a happy girl! :)

I never go in Harrods as it's so touristy and the slow escalators drive me mad. I'm all about Selfridge's as they have more of what i like. Especialy the makeup section. Various Youtube gurus have worked in the Illamasqua in there. Plus the Selfridge's bags look better! Nice package though Sarah. Your mum will be thrilled.
