I have been a prison guard for 11 years now and i see it both ways, their are co's that try to induce an IM into an altercation yes i've seen that ,but their are also IM'S that don't care and will go after a CO at the first avaliable oppertunity. The code is if an officer get's assaulted the inmate will pay i've read that clutts and silverstein had a personal issue it wasn't a CO vs IM issue, that is line not to be crossed once a situation becomes personal with an IM the situation is dangerous

The problem with this guys agency is that it is ran by liberal attorneys. The attorneys best interest is protecting the monitary value of the agency. The inmates can sue the agency even if they are acting in the best interest of protecting the public. For example if an inmate is trying to kill an officer or another inmate and the officer utilizes pepper spray and the inmates fights saying it was excessive force the agency gets sued. At the end of the day a law suit is not as important as a life.

This guy is exactley correct. Correctional Officers have an extremely tough job. The agency that this guy happens to work for allows inmates to dictate how these prisons are ran putting the officers and the public at risk. If you give an inmate an inch they are going to take it the mile. When we give them an inch when it comes to another human beings life the inch is not worth the mile.

The guys in Marion, and they are some BAD guys..are NOT (as littlesunii said) the child molesters. I don't know about how many are in for rape but I imagine very few. These were extremely violent offenders, gang members, and ganaral management problems. That's what the 1980s (especially 1983 and after) Marion "Level 6" Supermax was for. And this facility is no longer as bad as it was..as those people are in ADX in Colorado..although Marion does (unoficially) have the Control Unit available.

@ maxismax100 None of the people in this story are any are child molesters that's protective custody to keep them safe, from these guys this story is about. if you weren't so ignorant you'd know the difference these guys in the SHU isolation ad/seg are the ones knocking the blocks off the molesters.
