December 2011, Detroit & London, UK: The Super Bowl is not just America's game anymore!

As the Super Bowl and Chevrolet brand have simultaneously evolved as international phenomenons, Chevrolet is going "global" to create a highly anticipated Super Bowl XLVI TV commercial by offering independent filmmakers from 32 countries a chance to have their 30-second ad run during the telecast of Super Bowl XLVI game on Sunday, February 5, 2012.

Now, fans and consumers from all walks of life are being offered the opportunity to view, rate and share their favorite thirty-second spot to win up to $10,000.

Chevrolet Route 66: Crowdsourcing Creates Ads that Resonate

The competition, entitled "Chevrolet Route 66," is named for the famed American highway. Consequently, entrants are required to create an ad which captures the spirit of the everyday hero and the global experience of life's journey.

For this ad, Chevrolet is partnering with MOFILM, a British company that specializes in crowdsourcing initiatives to develop ideas for advertisements. The "Route 66" commercial will be one of five Chevrolet commercials aired during the telecast of Super Bowl XLVI.

As Chevrolet is sold in 140 countries, crowdsourcing content globally affords the brand a highly effective way to create advertising that resonates with consumers.

With great anticipation, the Chevrolet advertising team gathered together to review the consumer generated ads - looking for the best one to be aired during the telecast of Super Bowl XLVI.

Those who share most often can win up to $10,000. Registrants will be identified with unique user codes that will allow them to accumulate points every time they share with another fan who is registered in the contest. The top fans as measured by sharing will be tracked by the contest site leaderboard.

Chevrolet : GM's Global Mainstream Brand

Chevrolet is becoming GM's global mainstream brand, the foundation of the company's business in most major markets. In recent years, Chevrolet has expanded from its traditional markets in North and South America, and its list of top 10 markets now includes China, Russia, Uzbekistan and India.

Chevrolet today sells more than 60 percent of its vehicles outside the United States. Last year, Chevrolet sold a record 4.26 million cars and trucks, and was the only Top Five global auto brand to grow its market share.
