[Chorus:]

We'll rant and we'll roar like true Newfoundlanders
We'll rant and we'll roar on deck and below
Until we strikes bottom inside the two sunkers
When straight through the channel to Toslow we'll go

I'm a son of a sea cook, I'm a cook in a trader
I can dance, I can sing, I can reef the main boom
I can handle a jigger, I cuts a fine figure
Whenever I gets in a boats standing room

[Chorus]

Farewell and adieu to ye young maids of Valen
Oderin and Presque, Fox Hole and Bruley
I'm bound for the westward to the wall with the hole in
I can't marry all or a chokey I'll be

[Chorus 2x]

  • Newfoundlanders are amazing people. They are possibly the most generous and warm hearted people on the face of this plaent. I know what I'm talking about, I used to live there.

  • @TheMrdogoman you know, my father's grandfather was a captain of a ship that sailed back and forth between st. johns and boston. my favorite boat was the dory. used to ride it with a put put on the back through the waves on deer lake. that lake was a crazy one. on "father's day" my father insisted on taking me and my brother out sailing on deer lake when it was crazy. eventually we got turned over. my mother called the police because we were way too late. loved the old man.

  • Long Live Not Just Newfoundland but All of The Maritime

  • @TheMrdogoman my father's business crumbled at the same time he died. my brother in ontario invited me out where there were more jobs. then i met a woman from b.c. want to go back, but i'm kind of tied down. vacations are all i have.
