His starfighter had battle damage and he could not controll him as good as he might wanted it. So he flew just right into the bridge of the Executor.

Ok. If i was the commander, I wouldn't even bother jumping out of the way. If you managed to escape the blast, you would just be killed off or sucked out from no oxygen.
