Yeah.. English isn't my first language so i took the word that fitted best what i saw in the vid.. I live in montreal (Canada) and we have a COMPLETELY underground metro system, The train doesn't get outdoors at all, not even at the workshops; THIS is a REAL metro... I would say that the dubai railway transit thing would be a metro IF it would at least have a little bit of underground.. But so far as i have seen, no metro for dubai.

@SimonKelahear Four downdown stations of the red line are underground, for a distance of ~6km. And most stations of the green line are underground. Je comprends que le Metro de Dubai n'a pas l'air comme le Metro de Montreal, mais par defaut du terme... c'en est un. Ils l'ont construit en aerien car c'est moins cher et plus rapide a construire...
Et j'ai habite a Montreal pendant 5 ans. La chose qui me manque le plus de Montreal c'est l'odeur du Metro. Et le bruit du hacheur de courant XD

@SimonKelahear Colloquially, the term "monorail" is often used erroneously to describe any form any elevated rail or peoplemover. In fact, the term only refers to the style of track, not its elevation. Monorails are transportation systems that use one guide rail on which the train travels on. A metro, subway, or heavy rail is a double or triple tracked transportation system. The DubaiMetro is twin-tracked; and due to the distance between stations, it is considered heavy rail and not light rail.
