Michalis Jenitsaris - Saltadoros Live 1990

Michalis Jenitsaris (griechisch Μιχάλης Γενίτσαρης - Michális Genítsaris) mit der Gruppe Prosechos und der Sängerin Maria Nalbandi Live - Saltadoros.

Prägend für Jenitsaris Werk war die Zeit der deutschen Besatzung während des 2. Weltkrieges.

Sein Lied "Saltadoros" über einen Lastwagendieb, der den Besatzern Treibstoff und Ersatzteile stiehlt und diese auf dem Schwarzmarkt verkauft, gilt heute als Hymne des griechischen Widerstandes.
Dieses Lied wurde in den fünfziger Jahren von der Militärdiktatur verboten und erst 1974, nach dem Sturz der Junta, wieder zugelassen.

Jenitsaris selbst saß mehrere Male im Gefängnis und wurde u.a. als Strafgefangener auf die Kykladeninsel Nios deportiert.

The music of Jenitsaris was forbidden since the 50th up to 1974 (end of military dictatorship in Greek).
The reason: Many of his songs tell about resistance - in the time of German occupation (WW II).
