I noticed Fairbanks get alot of air quality alerts y is that?

@umbergerwill True! They put the meters right downtown by the street light where cars stop and idle. When it is cold the air is stagnant. We also have areas where people burn coal, now that is nasty, but when it is costing you over a thousand dollars a month just for fuel oil to heat your home, coal is an attractive (though smelly) alternative. We love clean air, but we love heat more (it has been -35 for several weeks now).

We usually dont get too windy, though sometimes in the spring it does, but now when it is below zero. It has been colder than -30 all week and set a new record for November. Sheesh...

In 1974 I graduated high school from LONGMONT, COLORADO and then in January of 1975 drove a truck up for my brother (a brand new 1975 Dodge Powerwagon). In those days that truck, brand new, was only $4500. Can you believe it, the same truck today would be 1000% more ($45,000.). Crazy...
