Opening sequence from the film "The Addiction" by Abel Ferrara. Using the traditional mythos of Vampirism, with a William S. Burroughs - Poppy Z. Bright subtext of Heroin elitism, Ferrara exposes the core philosophy of the psychopathic power-driven oligarchy that thrives on the fear of its subjects. Power, control, and the violence of their will are both the methods and goals of the Immoral Force they substitute for Torah law.
While perhaps not intended, the film provides a great deal of insight into Post Modern Feminist philosophy and rhetoric, its historical precedents, and its relationship to social Darwinism and nihilistic existentialism. If you've ever wondered why the PoMoFem, Relativistic, Derridian, Obamamaniacal Peace Studies crowd supports a certain form of religious terrorism that can't be named anymore for fear of censorship and possible retaliation, this film will help you understand. More importantly, it will teach you to say NO!

  • what does this have to do with moral relativism and wtf is up with that piecemeal wikipedia video description that just seems to be a series of conspiracy theory rantings? wtf is this.

  • @gratex It's great to hear from somebody who's not burdened with an overabundance of postmodern feminist education.

  • Torah law? what the hell is that?

  • @CanadiaNecro1 The basis for every social and moral principle you follow, assuming you have moral and social principles.

  • This is one of my favorite horror movies - as it really is a horror movie if you watch it in it's entirety and in order.

But it is a "good" horror movie - for one cause it makes you think a lot and two cause the story is true (of course not literary - but in a symbolical sense it is true - remember the title of the movie is "The Addiction" it's NOT "The evil Vampire" - what this movie really is, is an anti-drug movie - and it is just a shocking as Requiem for A Dream)

  • Very few people understand this film as you do.

I'd add that it's also a warning against post-modern feminist multiculturalism and moral relativism, which are just as dangerous to individuals and society as drug addiction.

  • @Supenmanu horror movie my ass - this is a philosophy essay by Nick St. John

  • agreed... i would actually think that those bad phenomena compliment each other. For example many young drug addicts i know never met their father - they live with their mother who is having a tough time trying to educate them and eventually feels overhelmed with the task of raising them alone and gives up. And the reason why she never got married was - exactly cause of feminism.

So yeah... they compliment each other... But multiculeralism is though to explain without being labeled a nazi.
