EDIT: MY mistake... The sequal was fake, prototype is not though. Basically I looked at the beta screens, then was followed to this site which shown the sequel's screens. However, because the upper portion was of authentic looking, I didn't actually see this as I was only interested in Monster Party at the time.

There are real games on that very site too, but they add humour to the site overal. You can understand my confusion. There wasn't any actual indication of this being a fake completly in the actual article aside the humour. Only did a comment finaly make me find a seperate article that told of it being a complete joke ("Unlike [editor's name] article, these games actually exist. So, I dunno, maybe you did play them."). I missed it somehow because I didn't focus on the poster's name while looking. Feel like a fool because I realized this later. I guess I forgot to check after coming from alot of the beta screens.

The article:

This video contains comparisons, taken from several websites, of the rarely seen Monster Party beta. It also contains some shots of the unreleased sequal, which looks so much better. Besides this vid, Iv'e seen no other Monster Party Beta footage on youtube, so it's possible this is the first vid on youtube. I don't realy play my finest here, I have not played it in a while. I also don't tell of every detail, this is up to the viewer.

There isn't much here, but it's still an interesting thing due to the wonders that still remain unseen in the beta.

It's quite possible that one day, someone will find the data for the prototype and sequal and dump it.

  • Excellent video, well you can hope BANDAI or NAMCO can pull this one out of the hat by some impossible scenario in which they add this beta dump as a bonus on some theme related game! Well you can always ask them directly, maybe they'd be crazy enough to do it!!! I hope so, this is a little gem that's carved into my heart ( not the a valentine's day looking one, blood dripping biology referenced splatterhouse energy meter like heart hehehehe) and would love to see anything related to it!!!

  • @areliusmars

There is a beta project under way, though its going to be different since we don't know the extent of everything. That's going used to make the game better.

  • @silenceofthehills The Bets version of the game was recently auctioned off in Japan. It's just never come up as an emulator.

  • @Themaniacnextdoor

    Really? That's interesting.

  • where can i download the beta?

  • @thedirtys2006

Actually, there isn't one. However, Cubivore is hard at work on a recreation hack, similar to that of the SMW Beta hack.

  • @silenceofthehills I just hope its being well treated, alothough i have no idea who was lucky enough tio get it.

  • That's going to take a lot of ASM work to reimplement the graphic changes in the other levels.

I wish Cubivore good luck on this project.

  • @silenceofthehills Well, what I meant from the beginning regarding namco and bandai is that maybe you can contact someone and ask them to dump the rom so that fans can get to try it out, or maybe some crazy gy on the net might dump it somehow, I dunno!! Let me know when your project is up and runing so I can check it out.
