When our client wanted to add a teambuilding event to an upcoming program, our first step was working with her to determine the type of teambuilder that best matched corporate goals. As a departure from their "traditional" teambuilding focus, together we determined that a community service project was the perfect project to "change things up" and offer something new for the attendees - something that would make a difference!
With "Extreme Military Makeover," 70+ attendee volunteers came to the aid of a young military spouse who found herself unable to keep up with home maintenance while her husband was deployed on his third tour of Iraq. Attendees replaced fences, landscaped the lawn, caulked, painted and built shelves making a huge difference to the comfort and pride of this family. A casual dinner was planned that evening where attendees shared stories and celebrated the day's success. By selecting "Extreme Military Makeover" we were able to complement the patriotic theme of another ACCESS-planned evening at the Officers' Club on an active area military base where the proceeds from hosted events contribute to better base services and quality of life for our service men and women and their families.
