Marines did the dying in Vietnam too. When we left defense stocks suffered and the rich lost a lot of money. Anybody see the real reason here? We can't even win the hearts and minds of an American neighborhood. Remember, the insurgents are considered "freedom fighters" to the locals - and once we leave - they will go back to their tribel lifestyle. We even B52 bombed Hanoi night and day and still lost eventually - the cowards South Vietnamese let us to the fighting.

It's Vietnam all over again but this generation wasn't born while we grew up with trying to wind the monds and hearts of the Vietnamese - it didn't work and we lost 60 thousand boys. I am 55 years olfd and my brother was OCS Quantico - Yale graduate - in the 1975 time frame. He agrees. So SF but is another disaster even with modern equipment. We never lost a battle in Vietnam - there is no "new strategy" this guy must not have studied Vietnam at all. It's identical!

@yousef2972 Ok lets clear this up, this is not made for 'false propaganda'. There has always been many farmers cultiviating popies because they get so much more money then wheat for example, When the taliban was in power there wasn't any surveys done on how many people cultivated popeys so your 3% figure is a load of crap. Afghanistan is the leading producure of poppy culitivation excluding the year 2000. Since the russians invaded warlords have been using poppy's to fund there operations.
