  • you cant just freakin get a ladder and get over it geez its small for a border

  • @BeastFromTheEastMj,

The Berlin Wall was heavily patrolled by East German guards who shot anyone trying to get over it. There is a memorial in Berlin to the many people killed in failed attempts to scale the wall.

  • Get'em Dave! Besides the Berlin wall was stocked with rifles so if anybody got close they'd get shot

  • @thecupcakefight

After 20 years of trying to get someone who will hold/film a camcorder properly while I appear on camera in every continent, this was the only situation where the holder's ultra-enthusiastic audio made a greater contribution than my video.

  • Does anyone know why they needed a wall to seperate the people in Berlin? I mean, what was the point?

  • Germany used to be divided into East Germany and West Germany. Many residents of the Communist East German dictatorship preferred to live in West Germany, with its higher standard of living and greater personal freedoms.

Since Berlin was undivided, it became the easiest way for East Germans to immigrate by entering West Berlin, part of West Germany.

The East German government was losing so many of its citizens that it built the Berlin Wall in 1961 to prevent people from getting out.

  • @BeastFromTheEastMj That is a pretty ridiculous statement. There was not one wall but three obstacles to cross guarded by thousands of frontier guards with guns with the additional risk of mines. If it were that easy to escape perhaps someone in East Germany would have thought of getting a ladder and jumping over.

  • Dave FTW!

  • Way to go Dave! Lol.

  • FALCON PUNCH !!
