Rope lighting install: materials needed depends on how long you are planning to keep your rope lighting up. Are you just installing the rope lighting for the holiday season only?.....or will you be installing your rope lighting for year round use? The materials needed, to install your rope lighting, depends on your answer to the above questions. "Joe" will show you what "he's" going to do when it comes to installing rope lighting.

  • I have rope lights that I need to put up but I cannot see what you are using !! I thought it would be simple 14mm cable clips but I cant seem to buy them anywhere!!

  • @dancingwizard3 I'm using a small clear plastic cable clamp. They have these in different sizes....in the electrical department at most hardware stores. I then used a longer screw than what came with them. I have a couple videos that show you more about the install & might give you some better views of the clips I used. Thanks for your comments & good luck with your project. Joe :0

  • Why not use raceway? If you're doing less than 25' then you could probably get away with spending less than $10 and it would be perfectly straight.

  • @gaitkeeper Not sure what you are referring to as a raceway as the rope lighting needs to be exposed all the way around as I wanted the light to shine up, sideways, & down all at the same time. A raceway (the type I know of) would've prevented this from happening. That's why I used the clamps. I installed the rope lighting on a handrail. Look at the other rope lighting videos I did & you'll see what I mean. Thanks for your comments. Joe :0

  • What kind of clamps were you using. Will Command brand work? It's hard to see in the video what supplies you were using.

  • @radrickdavis The clamps I was using were clear colored that wrapped around the rope lighting then had a screw hole in the bottom of the clamp to attach the rope lighting to the handrail, or wherever. I found these clamps in the electrical department at the hardware store. There were 3 different sizes of these clamps & I got the ones that fit the diameter of the rope lighting the best. I used the clear clamps as they blended into the rope lighting the best. Not sure what the brand was. Joe :0

  • @tictac2300 Thank you again for the constructive criticism for this particular video clip. It has been noted that I'm a "rambling man" lol & I will work on that & be more conscious of that in "joe's" future videos. If you don't tell, "joe" won't know, so thank you! Keep watching. Joe :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows lol im sorry man.I was just getting a little fustrated, but yea lol.You was wasting alot of video time doing absolutely nothing lol. But" yes" your videos have been very helpfull thanks.

  • @tictac2300 You have a point...well taken. I've had that problem all of my life.....I think I get it from my Mom lol (sorry Mom). In any case, usually I feel that the more I talk....the more you learn..... but in this case I would have to agree with you. I will take this as constructive criticism & thank you for telling me what you thought. Hopefully you got what I was telling you here on this video in a long winded way lol! I hope that doesn't stop you from watching more videos. Joe :0
