  • What is the source of this?

  • @ekiroto9 A journal written by Thomas Farnham in I believe 1838. The journal is authentic, but Farnham may have been a bit imaginative. Other members of his party told different stories about their ill fated 1838 expedition from Peoria to the Columbia.

  • Farnham could have faked it. Even so, the words were written shortly following his 1838 trip, so they still are impressive to me. I have thought about contacting Dartmouth to find out if there was a Delaware Indian enrolled there say 1810 to 1820 but I'd probably have to pay someone to do the research and I can't afford that.

  • Wow this is Deep

  • Yes, I think so. Even if Farnham put words in the Delaware's mouth, the fact that people were thinking such things so long ago.........while we are still going in the other direction!

  • Deep!

  • Farnham could not have written the man's name?

  • I wonder what the Delaware thinks now as he watches us from the spirit world. He probably sadly shakes his head. Yet there is always hope.

  • awsome
