@MichaelWithstand Do you even listen to yourself? You need help Michael and I say this in love. Your first post said that you know God and then you followed up with a post that says I need to be humble and admit I don't know God. It seems you are demanding from me the humility that you, yourself, is not willing to give.

@MichaelWithstand Neither do you know him. Nobody as finite as we can ever comprehend the infinite and only the most arrogant insist they do. YOU need to repent! Repent of your arrogance and behaving like the Pharisee who thanked God for making him so holy. If you recall, he never went to his home justified. Jesus made it simple, "Those who are not against me are for me." Mark 9:40 I am not against Christ so in Christ's own words, I am for him. Are you?

@phillisthebarbarian No it is not actually but to the uninitiated they do seem as such. The bible becomes only the truth for people who have discovered and witnessed the truth in it. As for other people it is simply a writing nothing more than that whether they choose not to believe in it or even choose to believe in it.

@jerrydecaire1 You DO NOT know God. The God whom you worship is a product of your want to make believe. Repent. Be sincere, seek God, have humility to admit that you do not know Him. Every Christian is called to be a witness not a mere believer because God is a living God. To not know God personally is not to be one of God's children.

@jerrydecaire1 The bible's called old & new testament. To know the truth in you have to bear witness to these truth written in the bible. That is to bear witness of the living God. This is the only way to KNOW what you believe in. By KNOWING God whom you claim to honor and worship. I know God. I have seen God. I have seen a miracle once. And God reveals to me the heart of people at times and things to come. Knowing death as what it is also came from knowing God. You are the fundamentalist.

@MichaelWithstand I only desire the truth. If I ever discovered that God is not loving or truthful, I would stand on those qualities and reject even Him. Truth and love are what makes God great. Without those qualities, he's just a cosmic bully. Do you want to worship and love a cosmic bully? Neither do I. But that is not my God. "It is a cruel man that believes in a cruel God."

@MichaelWithstand Michael, you speak as if I am believing in whatever feels good or tickles my fancy as if i were using that to excuse some imagined sin. I am a loner who studies dilligently the Scriptures and I do not party, smoke, drink, take drugs, or even pursue sex as I am more inclined to be attracted to a loving heart that a hot body. I eat the most nutrient dense foods and exercise daily. I'm a monk for all intents and purposes so I have no rationale to excuse away whatever sins I have.

@MichaelWithstand Michael, I hate to be the one who lowers the boom on you, but you ARE a fundamentalist. Fundamentalists believe in the literal translation of the Bible and trusts in its inerrancy-that is-it has no faults whatsoever. But there are many contradictions and difficulties with the Bible. Also, no one has the original autographs-all we have are manuscript copies and even that sometimes in only fragments. My foundation is reason premised on love-the essence of God's character.
