Ok so I had a Kicker KX2500.1 amp that would not come out of PROTECT MODE!!!! I would take off all speaker wires. Checked power, ground, and removed control and rca outputs and still went into protect!!!!! As soon as I turned the amp on it would stay in protect!!!! After watching this video. I opened my amp and replaced a bad mosfet or (transistor) and MY AMP TURNED ON!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN!!!! You helped me restore the ground pounding power of my KICKER AMP. This video really helped!!!!
Sir, may I ask? How do you know there is other internal damage? Did you check the gate, emitter resistance? To verify they are all within tolerance. And did you check you npn driver transistors? The ones that driver the output transistors on and off. I've done repairs where i didn't bother to check any of that and the amp failed again! And i wasted money also. Just throwing out tips. Keep up the diy repair work (:
hello first off, great vid. I wanted to know how do you know what kind of output transistors to get when replacing them? I have a Calibra Stealth amp. class D
@dominique182 you can usually take it apart and use a pin or paper clip to push from the inside depending on the design of the jack. otherwise order a replacement jack socket
very good job and thank you and you no your shit my good man big up to you !

@ihitatree the internal fuse has probably gone in the amp if it doesnt boot up at all. that or you will have fried the protection diode if it exists
