Here's Part 2 of Episode 2 of the SNES port of Wolfenstein 3D. Though it was censored, and the graphics blocky, it's the best controlling of all console ports.

  • Is this port better than Doom?

  • In my honest opinion, yes. It plays much better. If you can look past the censorship, it's a very enjoyable game. The SNES port of Doom is a great attempt, but it has some gameplay problems.

  • You play as William "B.J." Blazkowicz.

Who turns out to be the grandfather of Billy Blaze, aka Commander Keen. :P

  • @elbryan42 I never understood why Doom was so badly adapted to the snes. The gba version was way superior, even though the hardware is comparable.

  • Killing people is ok but not dogs damnit.

  • OOO they said when they dead =P

  • OOO the said when they dead =P

  • @sub2me4areview how can you tell

too me i think doom guys name was the id software creator john carmack (not john romero)

  • No, you can't use the knife, pistol or smg on the SNES after picking up the chaingun. You can only do that on the PC, XBox360/PS3, GBA and 3DO/Mac. The SNES and Jaguar doesn't let you.

  • @jonamy123 but the snes has way better controls than jaguar + on jaguar you cant switch back to knife-pistol-SMG

    this one you can

  • Oh and, fun fact about this port: id Software themselves finished it. The guy who was hired by id to develop it for Imagineer didn't make deadlines and left it half-finished; Imagineer was pissed and got on id about it but id couldn't get ahold of him. So they stopped all work on THEIR project at the time---Doom---and somehow got ahold of the material and quickly finished it for Imagineer. Then they got back to Doom. :)
