I finally let go of that upper hand on the "Lara" aka the cross knee pole sit and supported plank. Next challenge would be to straighten the legs and do a straight leg plank!

I put together the last of the clips from the 38 MM pole (1 and 1/2 inch conduit pole) from the REDKE71 Basic Pole Moves Video. I haven't actually given up that project--just got sidetracked a little because I was interested in seeing what aerial and inverted stuff I could do with the 2 inch (50 MM) pole.

For example, I'm still avoiding the reverse grab. I'm still worried about my shoulders on that one!

This week, I worked on the Expert Village tuorials for Half Bracket Handstands and Half Bracket Conditioning Lifts (Basically, that's 1/3rd of a cartwheel handspring, but starting already gripping the pole). I'll post some of this later...

Sorry about all of the edits, mixed up music, and background noise! These clips are from over a long time period, so they are kind of disorganized!

Thanks to everyone in the You-Tube Poling Community for being so supportive. Viewers interested in learning more about pole dancing and the pole fitness sport should check out Studio Veena forum and Alena Downs Polejunkies Forum.

Joel

PS By the way, I have a much NASTIER bruise than the pathetic one in this video. I've got a nice, huge purple blotch under the right armpit from the inverted bracket grip practice. Nothing on the left, though--so I must not be working hard enough!

  • I have to admit, at first I was like WTF!!! But, dude, I have to give you BIG props for doing this. I KNOW it's hard work. Best to you!

  • @Milpower Thanks! I'm an exercise junkie, actually. Love bike riding in the summer (30 mile rides!) a little bit of weight machines, and treadmilling. I just got some of the weight bands and use them on the pole for upper body and shoulder strengthening. Next week, I am trying out an aerial arts class for old folks, lol! (silks, rope, etc....)

  • @chumpchkin Thank You...lol, don't worry...I move at a slow pace...partly due to age...and just being busy with work and family. I try to keep it fun and low pressure...I'm not really interested in competing, so it is mainly for exercise and socializing.../Joel Lessing

  • You're super. I'm always getting frustrated because I can't improve as fast as I'd like to, but your videos remind me how important it is to be patient. Thanks so much!
