What I have learn specially if you live in NJ or NY the further you drive away from a city the more K Band you will run into (Except the Highways or Parkways). The further you drive upstate on the Highway the more KA band you will run into, O by the a famous State Trooper trick is to sit on the off ramp so it's harder for the radar detector to pick up a signal. By the time you drive by they already have your speed.

I would have to agree, to me Garden State Parkway is all about Laser. NJ Troopers in General use a lot of KA and Local Police use a lot of KA and SO MUCH K Band.

Ahhhh, make me want to go and get me a Redline oh but I do lol. Great video.

Funny you mention that specially in NJ they have the radar gun in the front and the back of the car, specially NJ local town cops, the NJ troopers and on Garden State Parkway have run KA a whole lot. But Garden State parkway cops to me at least look like they are all about laser now.

Funny you say that, on my way back from Pittsburgh to Jersey on I-80 they had a guy pulled over on the opp. lanes and he was running constant on X-band, but the scary thing is my Redline didn't go off until he was in sight, in this area they have these weird radar guns that stick out the back driver's side window. I think the reason why I didn't get a reading until I saw him was because it fires back, not forward so I was getting waves bouncing off the cars in the opp. direction.

X band is only used in a small handful of departments, like .001%. I turned it off on the first day I received my Redline.
BTW, if you turn on POP mode, it can scare the hell out of you because it's the loudest, most obnoxious warning, and for me it has gone off for no apparent reason, both city and highway, at slow speeds and fast speeds, with no radar trap in sight. I guess it's "so sensitive" it's picking up Martian radar from space??

I hate having POP enabled it does scare the crap out of you, also on the Escorts it makes the RD not as responsive to short bursts of radar. I had it enabled on my 9500ix for a week and it sucked.

I'm not really impressed by the Redline, my old 8500 X50 did just as good a job and it wasn't as noisy. In my area it's not uncommon to get 4 X bands and 1 or 2 K bands at the same time, I turned on TSR and it's the same crap, the only time you know it's real is when it's Ka, which, to my knowledge and experience nothing else runs within that band that isn't radar. I'm thinking of turning off X band alltogether, or junking it for the V1.

The 8500 is a good RD, I also own one. But's there is no X50 on the planet would have picked up that first I/O 35.5 shot :).
