@noisyneil : Well, thanks ....... I suppose. As an aside, in the early 1970's I used to live in Bray, Berkshire, a stone's throw from where Marian Montgomery and husband and musician Laurie Holloway lived.

@noisyneil : I think the piece you are refering to is "Close your eyes" by Marian Montgomery with the Dudley Moore Trio. Just enter Marian Montgomery to find it. Sadly, of the 4 performers, only drummer Chris Karan still lives.

That whole Thunderbirds sketch was brilliant... I have it on tape somewhere... Lady Penelope trying to get her cigarette holder near her mouth, and then knocking everything over.

that thunderbirds parody is absolutely brilllllliant!!! i miss dudley. i once saw a clip of him at the piano with a female singer. i think the clip was black and white on a chat show and perhaps the singer was cleo lane. anyway he took a vocal scat solo, doubling every note on the piano, playing almost random notes. it was amazing. if anyone knows where that clip is available, i'd love to see it again. :-)

@davidcononie It's 'Thunderbirds', a British animation series from the mid-sixties. There's plenty of it on youtube. The full sketch is called 'Superthunderstingcar' and that's also on youtube at the present time. Thanks for looking.
