One of my favorite classical songs, this was also used for background music in the Nancy Drew PC game, "Treasure in the Royal Tower." And I just love this song!!!!!!!!!

É que muitos especialistas definem o período Barroco como decorrendo entre 1600 e 1750 e isso compreende parte da vida de John Bull. John Bull aparece inclusivamente na lista de compositores barrocos da wikipédia. Mas o estilo musical de Bull é bastante diferente dos compositores barrocos mais conhecidos como Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, etc. É interessante ver como a música evolui tanto e tão depressa nos séculos XVI e XVII!

...não. Barroco, não. Pertence, ainda - em "estilo", pelo menos -, ao período Renascentista (e foi, entre outras coisas, parece, um excelente contrapontista).
Ora, "barroco" rima com "contraponto"...Portanto, é possível que possa ser visto como percussor, como outros dessa altura, do barroco inglês, pelo menos.
Não sou competente na matéria para lhe dizer mais que isto...:)
