this has been going on way before white people have been in asia

paler skin has always been considered upper class. because nobles never have to be out in the sun doing hard labor. because if you're tan, you're more likely seen as a second class citizen like a farmer or something

just my general knowledge. im not an expert.

No it has'nt. Many have been pulling AWAY from white skin tones. Thats why the majority, especially in the states, crave a darker complexion. Tanning shops are in almost every city across the country. Keep up with current news.

because dark is very beautiful, just like paler skin tones are to some people. more just perfer the darker complexion and so do i.

@shawn00 well that true my dad sister husband is chinese so on thankgiving i went and there family from chinna came and i walked up on a girl doing that before dinner i asked y i just like in chinna the olden day if u had money u wouldnt get ten doing work most chinese r white when born but they tan very easy so they get very selfconshis of some other chinese person thinking your so tan so you must be poor in chinna they dont even have as much racist stuff like people think in america

WHITE skin has ALWAYS been treasured in MANY parts of the world because it WAs a sign of WEALTH and PRIVILEDGE as you did not have to work in the fields like everyone else and get turned into shoe leather over the course of time. Thats all. It has nothing to do with wanting to be anglo or caucasian. Same thing in this country..why do u think women had PARASOLS? to keeo their skin as fair as possible...only poor girls worked in the field...duh!
