SportsPack SPK-HCB with HC96

A test of the SportsPack SPK-HCB with my Sony DCR-HC96 in a bathroom. You can hear the sound under water, only produced from the camera.

You seem to be objecting to the sound of the camera when in the housing, but only when it it under water. What sounds would you WANT to pick up under water, that you might pick up from the camera mic? Scuba bubbles? Whale cries? Seems like you'd need a good underwater mic system, and that one would dump the camera's audio channel any way and work with imported sfx. Not that I'll ever shoot in the water, myself.

No, i havent. But i will & post videos of it. I can see your point - i had the same feeling the first time i dive my cam under the water.

ich hab heute meine hc96 mit dem selben gehäuse getestet. ebenfalls in meiner badenwanne. dieser durchdringende ton der nur unter wasser vorkomt ist wohl durch die wanne bedingt oder? also im see , pool, schwimbad oder meer (salzwasser) sollte das doch wohlo nicht so sein mit dem Ton hoffe ich. Kannst du oder sonst jemand das bestätigen? hab zur zeit nicht die möglichkeit das selber zu testen ausser eben in der badewanne.

if it does break, you can get a replacement from sony for having a poorly made product. odds are they'l get you a new HC9!

I have a Sony HC3, I didn't get the chance or muster up the courage to put my $900 camera underwarer. But I will try it with the HC96.
