[David Haas] The only time we use this Gloria: the Christmas Season! Gives my hands a workout, for sure!

  • Not bad for being transposed a half key down.

  • @splitpantsdancing Yes, I bring almost everything down a half key. More comfortable to sing, for just about everybody.

  • Yours is my new favorite rendition of the "Mass of Light" Gloria. Your version is similar to what I'd hear in my home parish years ago (minus guitars and 12 other singers...). If only our current parish music director was as a good of a piano player as you are!

  • @TurboVW2004 Thank you so much! We're still using this Gloria, up until Lent. The more I play it the more I like it. I can even hear our pastor singing it, way down front!

  • Good job on the 3rd verse, that's a pain to play... litterally !

  • @Stealthguy06 Thanks! I'm getting better at playing and flipping pages. We've only used this Gloria for the Christmas season, only some years, but our new choir director thought we should keep this mass setting going until we begin Lent. So yes, my fingers are definitely getting a workout.

  • Hello!!!! I love singing "Gloria: Mass of Light" every Christmas Season!!!!!!! It gives me the beat to be joyful every Christmas Season!!!!!!!!

  • Not bad for being transposed a half key down.

  • @DawnESlike I know what you mean! I play piano for my catholic church in PA and a lot of our cantors transpose a lot of items down a key or two!

  • @mikefilms1000 Yes, E major. But we almost always transpose everything down half a key. I'm an alto; and a lazy one at that. LOL
