@USAGiant Good Times was still on then, as was What's Happening!!. Then you had the shows with one black cast member or two, including Barney Miller, Love Boat, Welcome Back Kotter, Carter Country, Starksy and Hutch, Vega$, and WKRP in Cincinnati.
As for The White Shadow, it's still one of my favorite shows, and so far ahead of its time.

When I watched this show as a kid, I thought playing high school basketball would be made up of running laps, jive talking brothas, and acapella doo-wop showers. Other than the laps, I was sorely mistaken.

@saturnday im 14 and i used to watch this when i was a kid well at least the reruns i think they should bring it back on tv or make a new version of it on tv land or tbs or nbc

@pippigladstone It used to be on TV Land back when the channel started in the mid 1990's. Last I saw it was on one of the sports channels like ESPN Classic

Just realized it was created by the late Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth's father.
Dude this theme song was amazing at the time, only a Sanford and Son rivaled it's funk power!
