@SalamanderTalent 02. Ford was also friendly with Thomas Edison who was, originally, much more anti-Semitic than Ford; Edison would never hire Jewish workers while Ford did and he also had black assembly-line workers, too.

Ford's anti-Semitism really didn't start until he met the irksome Rosika Schwimmer on his peace mission during WWI and it was after the war that Ford, embroiled in a lawsuit with the Chicago Tribune where he was held up to public ridicule by too many Jewish intellectuals who publicly laughed at and sneered at his total lack of education, (despite building the Ford Motor Co.) did his anti-Semitism really take off.

wages back then were a lot lower! $5 a day in 1920 is equal to $57 dollars today. Thats less than the MINIMUM wage today which is $7.25. 8 hours a day at $7.25 an hour is $58 dollars a day. So were better off now.
