Caranguejo, the colored crab that lives in the mangroves of Recife became a symbol of the 'Mangue Beat' movement of the 90thies. Chico Science pictured his Mangue-friends as crabs with antennas, crawling around in the the city delta with his rivers, canals and bridges. Adapting for surviving, the caranguejos assimilated modern music with the traditional heritage of the Nordeste, the Northern states of Brazil. This video is part of the documentary by John Erbuer. Featuring Dona Cila. Music by Think Of One
