Yep, most people should be shooting raw. It's as simple as that. There is however an exception and this is where you're shooting sequences with multiple frames per second and you find that your camera or card can't keep up with your requirements. In such extreme cases JPEG can be of use.

i dunno if you have your answer by now but the reason people advise not to take b & w pick directrly form you camera is that if you like the pic so much and for some reason you wanted it to be a color pic there is nothing you can do, you are stuck with it being b&w. If you take color pics you can allways turn them b&w with a few clicks on your computer, cheers man.

I think there needs to be something said in the effect of just making it more colorful does not make it a better photo. Video is ok but goes pretty fast for new users.

3:32 spent on intro yet you don't tell us HOW TO OPEN AN IMAGE IN CAMERA RAW!!!
Like your tutorials but TOO MUCH INTRO TIME!! and then leaving out that all important step...
