most people dont realize, but a Star Destroyer is taller than the Empire State Building. And that is far from being is biggest dimension :)

That's more like it. Better use of scale than nearly all the others and so much more realistic. You just need to make much longer videos!

@runforthehills707 Thank you. Yes, I wish to do much more, if only time was on my side. I am also saving for a a good "prosumer" camera in order to shoot sequences for practicing vfx. This video was shot on my friend's (guy in video) camera.

What software did you use to make this? I would imagine something like 3D S Max or Maya for the modeling/animation, and then After Effects to place the ships in the city scene. After only ten seconds, I want more, but I realize that this must've taken forever to render. Great job!

@SephirothEGS You basically nailed it man. I used syntheyes for camera matchmoving, and 3ds Max 2010 for animation coupled with Mental Ray for rendering. Rendered images were then imported into after effects for compositing. Both models were created by the wonderfully talented artist Ansel Hsiao.
And yes, rendering time is always problematic. Render time for this shot took 20 minutes per frame.
