@angelmommy1982 You lack an intrinsic factor for absorbing vitamin B12. You have to take high amounts of b12 for the rest of your life and you should feel much better. It may take up to a year for your nervous system to heal.
i was just diagnosed with a severe B12 defiecient. all my dr told mewas that i have to take a suppliment.. I have been fatiqued and had numbness and tingling in my hands and feet plus depression and mood swings for 10 years. she said i had what is known as pernicious anemia... i know nothing of this can someone help me?
I have been diagnosed with B12 deficiency for over a year now. I inject myself every month and will have to for the rest of my life. My doctor told me that if I do not do this I will die.
I first found out I had this when I was 19. A YEAR after I had my first ever blood test and was told that it wasn't anything serious. People put it down to puberty at first since I was 9 when I first started feeling less energetic. It needs more awareness! Especially in younger people like me. Because thanks to this problem I have dulled sensation in my fingertips and stunted growth. And I missed lessons in college because I kept passing out in class.

Agree with everyone who said we need more understanding. A lot of doctors don't understand what Pernicious Aneamia means for the sufferer.

I think there is No relation between pancreatic disease and B12 deficiency because it need only interisic factor and ileum to be absorbed
