This mix of "So You Say You Lost Your Baby" has some marked differences compared to the mix found on the stereo LP. Namely, some variations in the harmony vocals. These differences appear on the mix found on the mono LP, but here on the single they are featured much more prominently.

Columbia 45 #4-44088, released April 1967.

  • At the end you can barely hear Gene at all..... Poor mix IMO

  • @catoohey It reminds me of the stereo mix of "Needing Someone", where Gene is in the choruses and the Gosdins' "ahh's" are drowning him out totally.

  • This stuff is so done .stick a fork in it

  • Whoa! This is markedly different from the LP version I'm so familiar with. Like hearing the harmonies more prominently. But, geez, Gene's guitar-and-vocal demo may top both full versions. Seems he could do no wrong in 1967.

  • Cool to hear this version; thanks for posting. Exquisite song, one of so many beautiful songs by Gene Clark.

  • Thank-you for posting this!!! My favorite Gene Clark song of all time! ♥
