  • 0:08 two pantographs were difficult to achieve due to the vibration caused by the first one - there could be the situation whereas the first one causes a wave that makes the other break the wire. I don't know how they solved it, perhaps at higher speeds there's only one pantographs (yes, that's enough, more power is needed at acceleration only)

  • @LMB222 Not exactly, only one pantograph up on 25 KV, two aren't necessary.

  • @dashloc Ignore my earlier comment - there are TWO pantographs here, one per consist. Again, how they solved the wave problem is interesting.

  • @LMB222 Not so bad, there two pantograph up on high speed line for the Eurostar, it's because the train could be cut in half, so no high power cable passing from one engine two the second extremity !

  • @dashloc That would mean more than 1000A per pantograph at peak power - sorry, I doubt it.
