Patricia was permanently placed in foster care at age five and has moved more than a hundred times and never finished high school. Her earliest recollections were of testifying in court and crossing over to the juvenile justice system. She saw Shasta College in Redding, California as a place where she could find freedom from the confinement of Los Angeles. Patricia is currently juggling two jobs and is a full-time student. She plans to transfer to a university and give back through a career as a children's court attorney and one day as a judge. She hopes to help give foster youth their voice, the same voice that was given to her. She realizes the importance of breaking the cycle of abuse and being the first in her family to attend college.
