An easy way to store large lengths of paracord, or any cord, without getting it tangled up.

  • Hey, thanks for posting this video!! I used your method with the 50' of paracord I keep in my SAR/GOOD/Hiking pack, and it works great. It is much easier to manage and pack that way. What I also did was tie a figure eight on a bight on one end and keep a caribeiner hooked to it.

  • @40MetersCW Cool man! Glad it works for you!

  • finally a good video on the daisy chain - thanks!

  • @3Kitais No problem! Thanks for watchin!

  • Sigh, I hate being the dumb one in a group...it's a great video, but I seem to be having a problem. I think I'm following your process carefully, yet for some reason the daisy chain doesn't unspool. When I try to deploy it, the cord is in a series of locks. In other words, each section I've pulled through seems to be locked off when I try to deploy, so I have to undo each pull through to deploy. Argh. That isn't articulate but it's hard to describe. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

  • @hilldm This happens to me sometimes, easy fix though! Take the end you're suppose to pull and slide it back through the closest loop in the chain. If my explanation has worked it will unravel once you do this and pull the end.

If yer havin trouble after this bit of help..PM me and I'll walk you through it, or make another video if need be!

  • @hilldm I know this is really old, but I only just found this video and I had the same problem as you the first time I tried to pull it out. What I was doing wrong was I was pulling the loose end through twice which just locks it again. It was really easy to do and at first I didn't even realize it. You need to just carefully take one loop and pull it over your loose end and then the rest should pull smoothly. I wasn't sure if this was your issue also, but figured I would share just in case.

  • I have been daisy chaining my guitar cords for a couple of years now, after getting frustrated with tangled cords every gig before that, and not only is it quicker to set up, but since I've been doing that I haven't had to replace my guitar cords - just don't bend the soldered sections at the ends.

I also carry 12+ ft. of paracord with/as my belt, using a single strand daisy chain (as tight and consistent as possible) with a noose knot+figure 8 stopper fastener and it actually looks good too.

  • This is the best video on daisy chain i have seen till now ....amazingly simple & clear.

  • Awesome Dusty, Great post Geeza
