@eQuali7y coachdinam is right, they don't care which way you do it.
-
@eQuali7y Yeah you are completely wrong, the USMC does not care which hand grip you use.

just a tip u shouldnt follow other peoples workotus u should create your own for ur specific body type and needs, its what i did and i can do 37 deadhang no kip pullups and 15 with a 45pound plate

@DubGaymer Haha it happens man. I was the same way when I was out of shape and PTing with my RSS. I doubted joining just for the physical aspect, but once i got in shape everything was much better and I love the workouts. Just stay motivated and keep running.
-
did you leave a day out ? you went from 3rd day to 5th
-
@eQuali7y his fit are touching the ground u can do either for pull up part
-
@eQuali7y In the US you can do any, in the UK they only allow overhand.

fuck im about to sign into the delayed entry program for the marines, im so out of shape i stressing about these pullups and the run. i absolutley hate workin out but when i think of what its for it somewhat helps...but then when i start working out i have second thoughts of joining marines cuz it sucks so much. but then hour later im all pumped up again. i don't even know

@eQuali7y I am a Marine and qualified to administrate the PFT. It does not matter if you use underhand or overhand or a combination of both. Also going from 9 to 20 is realistic.
Underhand grip is improper form altogether. How you've made it this long without swapping is a mystery to me. Overhand grip (Back Primary Muscle) is the correct way for a USMC. Oh and btw there's no way you went from 9-20 pull ups and 5 weeks... Come on bro really?

@eQuali7y Last time I checked, they don't care which way you do it on the physical fitness test. I still get my 20 using underhand. And really bro, I went from 11-12 to 20-21 in about 5 weeks. I signed my contract on May 20th, 2006 and shipped off to basic training June 19th.

i cant do any pull ups how would i do this
gh32231 6 months ago
@gh32231 If you cant do any pull ups you can do any one of the following: 1) have someone help push you up, 2) use a resistance band 3) use a chair under you to assist or 4) use a lateral pull-down at the gym.

cool video man. Im also doing the armstrong workout. How much was your training set at first? I can do 12 pullups now and i started at 2 in my training set at 2... should i do more? I feel like i dont get a workout on day 3 when i only do 9 different training sets... tips?

@robcole24 just be consistent and at first you won't be able to do many, but you'll see improvement as you go. Just try to beat your previous number of sets two to three days before. you have to give your muscle time to grow and get stronger, so don't expect any overnight results. I started at 12 pull-ups as well and when I was doing the training sets I could only do 2-3 and felt like such a WEAKLING lol. but you'll see soon that you'll be able to do more and more as the weeks go by. GL!
