Nova Scotia Sea School - youth surfboard shaping (conversation with mascot)

Led by the Nova Scotia Sea School, the Get Out and Surf! Project: Surfboard building, Art and Surf Camp for youth on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia will provide teenagers (ages 14-19) from the Eastern Shore with everything they need to gain access to surfing: a board, a suit, lessons, skills and a mentoring surf buddy. Participants will gain these skills and equipment through comprehensive program in art, design and surfboard shaping that will also include workshops by local artists and mentorship by local surfers. The program will not only provide opportunities to deserving youth, it will also connect surfers to the communities where they surf, and provide our talented local surf artists with the recognition they deserve.

The Get Out and Surf! project brings together Halifax Regional Municipality Recreation (Musquodoboit Harbour, Sheet Harbour and Middle Musquodoboit offices), the 4Cs Community Arts Foundation and Simple Square Solutions to deliver the coolest residential camp the Eastern Shore has ever seen!
