I used the NTSC gamecube version because it was near at hand. Obviously the Wii PAL version will/should be used for a complete TAS for various reasons. There is a lot wrong with this TAS but it's more of an idea and to show people what can be done. This was a complete nightmare. I had to redo this little segment four times because the emulator simply corrupted my save files for no reason. I used savestates and frame advance. It's not the best movement of Leon in the world as I am still getting used to how it works. Playing this game with frame advance is good but besides the quick shooting of the crow it's no different from a real console speedrun. The only thing you can manipulate is critical shots and speaking of critical, you will notice my aiming on the first guy is not so fast. I did this in real time as frame advancing a critical shot was pissing me off (at least 50 retries). Once I got the critical I went back to frame advance mode. It was either that or I wasted two bullets. No matter where I shot the ganado, he was taking a bullet, a kick and then another bullet to go down. I think I could have saved two or three frames when organizing inventory. When dumping the movie it was at a full 60fps and too fast so I used virtualdub to stick it to 29.97 so if the speed looks weird, thats why. I was trying to luck manipulate a better drop (maybe a grenade) from the ganado and after some testing the drop is not loaded until you go into the cutscene. I used a savestate before activating the cutscene. I went in to it and got a green herb, then another green herb. I then got handgun ammo, I then got nothing and then finally money.
