it is a Lindy Showcase (This is a no-holds barred dance. All lifts, drops, aerials, airsteps and acrobatics are allowed.) It is not a Classic Lindy. Sometimes people get confused and annoyed with all the tricks but if you look closely you can see the basic Lindy pattern and even some swingouts ;)

@tmtke It's a Boogie Woogie - Lindy Hop Hybrid... (Mind you, mostly Boogie Woogie)

genial ... :-)))

Just taking apart the steps there actually is a billion swing-out variations in there. At least I see them. It just doesn't feel like Lindy Hop, because the music (and therefore the dancing) don't have that "swingy" feeling to it? This feels more like Rock'n'Roll, I agree, but it's actually really advanced Lindy technique, so I do see why they won the Lindy competiton with it. It's a fresh take on Lindy Hop, and setting it to different music is a pretty adventurous step.

supertoll ... :-))))
@SVTapir While I appreicate their highly energetic and powerful dance, I must agree. This was not Lindy at all.

While it was an amazing routine, and William & Maeva are incredible dancers, I really don't see how that should win a *lindy hop* competition?
