Kudos to Chan Luu of Sundance Catalog fame who made this "lattice" all the rage. At beadshop.com, we've decided to create our own unique designs when teaching how to master this technique. Itʼs straightforward to learn but it is definitely an intermediate project; you need some patience, beads and the right materials. We have added our silk wrapping technique (watch our other video) to lend it finesse, but you can certainly stick with the simple knotted button and loop as we have shown in Part Two of Learn to Ladder. Be sure to watch from start to finish before you begin. Notice how Nicole begins and ends by wrapping the thread around the cord twice to create a "sacred" triangle. This insures there is distance between beads and knots. Without that space, we believe the lifetime of your bracelet can be shortened. Enjoy! Materials can be purchased at www.beadshop.com

  • Hi Patricia,

Nicole is using a continuous leather cord she attaches to the loop on one side and the ends on the other. The cord gets tightened behind the board and keeps the work taut. Because the design board has sides, it's easy to get your threads underneath the cords as you macrame. If you are using a macrame board, you can use binder clips at each end to secure your work and insert match boxes or pill bottles under each end of the board to raise your work up. Hope this helps!

  • Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do this! What a cost saver!!

  • @najj74 glad you liked it. We have just added some new videos which we hope you will also enjoy. happy beading!

  • Hi Nicole,

I made this bracelet right the very first time by following your instruction. I went on and make different longer variation like a wrap bracelet.

I wonder if you can make another tutorial with multiple row based on this ( like 2 or 3) as a ladder cuff bracelet.

I am a beginner beader , so my imagination is kinda limited.

    Thanks you in advance

    Hi wonton71,

I am sorry for taking so long to get back to you! I have been developing a new wrap bracelet, but making a 2 or 3 row cuff is next on my list. If you go to beadshop.com and sign up for our newsletter, you will know as soon as we get the multiple row cuff project done.

    Thank you and happy beading!

    Nicole

  • I'm having a terrible time finishing this bracelet! The picture isn't very clear at the end, so I can't see how you're doing it. I'm ready to give up! What am I doing wrong? My threads are not staying taut and when I try to tie off the end, the knot is a mess and the last bead is loose.

  • parabens sensacinal maravilhoso!!video!!obrigada amiga!!!!

  • Could you tell me what you are using to hold the cord? I use a macrame board, but I really like that you have a deep place for your fingers to work.

    Thanks, Patricia

  • Caramba!! Como é dificil pra esses gringos ir direto ao assunto!!
