Wow. I often call myself a Master Shopper, but I have to tip my hat to you and your process. You do things differently than I do (we all know there's at least 4 ways to do just about ANYTHING in Pshop) but I really have to say I've learned from your Pshop philosophy. Moreso than even the awesome tutorial on mapping, thanks for sharing your thoughts on Pshop Philosophy. That may just prove useful to me in all projects from now on.
I award you 9 internets and a cookie!

I'm in CS5, at 2:08 you say ctrl + I but when I do that nothing happens ! How do I do the black background thing in CS version? Please help.

@EletteL The shortcut for Invert is the same in the CS Photoshops as in PS7: Ctrl + I. The long way to it is Image > Adjustments > Invert, but if Ctrl + I isn't working you might need to reset your Photoshop preferences back to their default settings. When you're having odd problems like this with Photoshop that usually fixes them right up.

I'm surprised I can translate all of the results to GIMP (The methods are very different, but I can find the outcome from the video) considering GIMP is so much less powerful.

One of the reasons I elected to use Photoshop 7 to build these tutorials was to make it easier for folks using the GIMP to port them over! :-)
