Did this project jot finished ever?
-
huh. That's uh...very interesting. A little bit of CV so1 music and game play mixed with a CV2 setting and a little bit of CV3 along the way. That's very creative.
-
This had serious potential... Wish you would have finished it. :(

Now that I have been working with Nes roms for awhile courtesy to my first hack (Prelude Of Darkness) I wish I could get my hands on this rom and complete it. I did try this once. I do great with Graphics and Sprite Editing now but the programming for the bosses and game play. Still don't have the knack for Binary and Hexadecimal.

now this is the true castlevania simons quest!
-
@MattT1996 Yeah, I was wondering that as well. Would be cool if it were a split path or something.
-
1:33 what happens if you go down that staircase?
-
How exactly do you hack a ROM?
-
I know your comment is old but it gave me some well needed info , but could you specify ''find the graphics''? Also the + and - buttons to get the graphics aligned? Ive been trying for 15 mins and all i see is a mess of colors and when i press + or - all it does is move stuff up or down and doesnt make any sense...

awesome i wish this was the Castlevania 2 simons quest MUCH BETTER
I have begun to start a project my self on something like this. Information will be at the Castlevania Corner. Right now I am gathering software. How did you import the Castlevania 2 graphics into the first one. That is my main issue at the moment. I almost had simon correct then blew up in my face. Go figure this is not easy work.

Open your CV1 ROM in a tile editor (YY-CHR is the best for working with NES games, IMO), find the graphics, then use the + and - buttons to get them aligned. If you're working with sprites, switch the "Normal" pulldown menu to "FC/NES x 16", this will make it a lot easier to edit them. Do the same thing in CV2, then just start copying the sprites over. Background graphics are the same, except you don't need the x 16 option, it won't align those in any meaningful way.
