do you think a briggs and straton would power that car?

Wow, you sure know your cars! I've never met an American that knows about DAF.
Although the old DAFs are now getting a more loved status, up till a few years ago it was considered quite a DAFt car ;P. Mainly because they were automatics by standard, and for a long time automatics were thought of as cars for people who couldn't drive and the elderly. (that is currently changing, with all the congestions these days)
I'm with you on the Jensen models, they are the better looking ones.

Awesome little car, I really want to restore one myself... but unfortunately the Subaru 360 was never sold in Europe. So I would have to import from the USA or Japan. *sigh
Guess I'll stick to my Volvo Amazon for now.
But again, great little car!
btw, looks like you're not used to a manual gearbox. ;P

Nothing wrong with an Amazon, an early Jensen built P1800 would be good. Shifting? But your from the Netherlands, I thought you all still drove DAF Variomatics... ;)

You're going to hate me for asking this...but have you considered a motorcycle engine? Aside from the substantial performance increase, you'd also have a much easier time finding parts.

They made a 450cc, That would be an easy swap- but pricey. The 360 is quite sonorous though.
