It's your turn to judge if Photoshop Drawing is real art or not. I quickly draw on the tablet (on camera), and then draw with a pencil. I have to use the same techniques for both media, so I think they are both art. Sometimes the Cintiq is even harder than using a pencil.

  • You can also rotate canvas with new Photoshops.

  • I don't see how you do something being a big factor(if even one) on whether or not something is "art" or not. So yes, I think they are both art. I think traditional methods usually look a lot nicer, but that's just personal preference just like water color vs. acrylics.

On a somewhat unrelated subject, do you have any tips for getting nice angled strokes on an Intuos? You can't just turn an Intuos like a Cintiq so it's not as easy for me.

  • @Lydomina New Photoshops let you rotate canvas in real time like in Painter. I think by hold alt and space at the same time.

  • what kind of tablet is that ......... I think they are both consider art

  • @justfine2008 12wx Cintiq. They cost $1000.

  • I can't seem to get the feel of drawing with a USB tablet. I just don't like how unnatural it feels to look at the screen while drawing. What would you suggest? Am I supposed to look another place while drawing? Is there a certain mindset you have to have?

Secondly, I ask if there are any good tablet PC options out there? I don't think it would be worth it (where my skill is at currently) to buy a high end cintiq, but a laptop with a tablet function might be justifiable. Are they any good?

  • @sgtbuckwheat I would rather get used to using an Intuos than to use a tablet PC, at least until tablet PC up their pen quality: pressure sensativity, and such.

  • art is everything human can create, with their imagination it doesnt matter if made of what, done with what it still being an art.

  • Anything that makes use of your artistic abilities is art. It's just a matter of how you're expressing it and the type of tools you're using. To take things to extreme, even photography can be a form of art but I wouldn't compare it to sketching. In this case you have two different methods of sketching, both requiring artistic talent and both using similar mechanics with some adjustments. Technology is irrelevant. Cave drawings on walls and sketches on paper... ALL ART.

  • Cool! Photo shop is pixels and paper led but they r vary close

  • Both

  • The art comes from the person so I'd say it doesn't matter what you use.Photo shop or traditional.

  • as long as it has bobs
